The City of Tacoma EnviroHouse is a permanent model home showcasing green building and natural landscape ideas, materials and techniques to create a healthy home and planet.

The EnviroHouse is a demonstration "green" residence showcasing green building and natural landscape ideas, materials and techniques to create a healthy home and planet. The EnviroHouse features readily available environmentally friendly products, such as recycled-content carpet, furniture and tile, non-toxic wall coverings, sustainable-certified wood, energy-efficient lighting and appliances, water saving devices and more. The landscape includes native plants, varieties of turf, a rain barrel and natural pathways.

The permanent EnviroHouse exhibit serves as an information resource for visitors showing them why and how to remodel "green" and live sustainably. MBA's Built Green program contributed to the design and funding of the EnviroHouse and helped solicit the skilled labor that transformed the house into what you see today.

The Enviro House is located at the entrance to the City of Tacoma landfill and recycling center at 3510 South Mullen. The entrance is located off Center Street next to the Home Depot in the Southwest corner of the City.
