Built Green Washington recently released the results of a state-wide consumer survey about green homes and green products. The results are promising!
Nearly nine-in-ten (86%) respondents thought ‘green’ certified homes were at least somewhat more environmentally friendly than a comparable house not built to a ‘green’ standard. 49% said certified homes were much more environmentally friendly.
Two-thirds (66%) of respondents said it was at least somewhat important that when purchasing a new home, it be built to a ‘green’ standard.
Seven-in-ten (70%) respondents said it was at least somewhat important that home remodeling products they purchase be ‘green’ products.
Two-in-five (43%) respondents thought a ‘green’ certified home is built with at least somewhat higher quality materials.
